Nanouk is a versatile lawyer specializing in labor law. In her advisory and litigation practice, she works for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and larger (inter)national companies. Her clients come from various sectors, including financial services, FMCG, ICT, construction, and academia. She advises works councils and represents employees in management positions, statutory directors, and expatriates.
Nanouk has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer. For the past ten years, she has been a partner at Avocare Labor Law.

Nanouk completed the Mediation Training at Kyden in Bussum and is a registered mediator with the MfN.

Social Plan: Dilemma Counselor and Complaints Committees
Nanouk guides various companies in their reorganization processes, both as a lawyer and in the role of dilemma counselor. In this capacity, she acts as an independent legal advisor and speaks individually with surplus employees about questions and dilemmas related to the social plan. She also has experience as the chair of social plan committees.
Intervision Supervisor
Nanouk is a registered intervision supervisor with the Dutch Bar Association (NOVA) and the Association of Labor Law Attorneys in the Netherlands (VAAN).
Personal
In her free time, Nanouk enjoys movies, reading, tennis, mahjong, Asian cooking, and traveling. She lives in Haarlem with her husband, two daughters, and dog.

Membership in the Association of Labor Law Attorneys Amsterdam (VAAA) and the Association of Labor Law Attorneys in the Netherlands (VAAN) keeps her legal knowledge up to date.
In addition to her practice, Nanouk is a core editor for the digital product Sdu Opmaat Arbeidsrecht+.
Nanouk Cancian has the following areas of law registered in the Dutch Bar Association’s register of legal areas: Labor Law (Collective Dismissal, International Labor Law, Works Council Law)
This registration requires her to earn ten training points each calendar year in each registered area of law, according to the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
